2016 NAFL Draft Combine to be held on March 19. 2016 NAFL Draft to be held on March 26 and 27, 2016.
Atlanta, Georgia - June 19, 2016 - The North American Football League (NAFL) is pleased to officially announce Nashville, TN as the location of both the 2016 NAFL Draft Combine and the 2016 NAFL Draft. The 2016 NAFL Draft Combine will be held on March 19 and the 2016 NAFL Draft will take place on March 26 and 27, 2016.
Although Nashville has always been the preferred location for the 2016 NAFL Draft, the location of the 2016 NAFL Draft Combine has remained a part of the ongoing negotiations required to build the foundation for a successful launch of the NAFL brand.
The decision to hold both events in Nashville is also in keeping with the NAFL's plan to make Nashville the official home of the NAFL. The NAFL league offices will be headquartered in Nashville, as well as the NAFL Sports Network and other related NAFL holdings. The NAFL feels that Nashville compliments its model well by providing a regionally centralized location to better support a growing body of fans. The NAFL looks forward to establishing a strong relationship with the City of Nashville and it views this decision as a good first step in building that relationship.
Furthermore, the NAFL has chosen to combine these two historic events in the same location to better take advantage of the opportunity to foster cohesion, strategize, and build upon the foundation that has already been established in preparation for the launch of the NAFL. Hosting both events in Nashville will provide that opportunity by bringing potential players, as well as league and team staff, under one roof for an entire week. In addition to facilitating both the 2016 NAFL Draft Combine and the 2016 NAFL Draft, league personnel will attend conferences and take advantage of the opportunity to build relationships with the various components that comprise the NAFL. The NAFL views this arrangement as the perfect opportunity to strengthen the core values that the NAFL is built upon and create an environment that lends itself to future success.
The actual facility to be used for the 2016 NAFL Draft Combine will be released in the very near future, as will the physical location of the 2016 NAFL Draft. The NAFL is currently engaged in negotiations with several venues. The final decision will be based on numerous factors; close proximity to hotels, the necessary space requirements to hold these events, and other logistical concerns that are currently being addressed. That said, it should be noted that the 2016 NAFL Draft Combine will take place in professional facilities and use state-of-the-art testing equipment. In addition, the 2016 NAFL Draft will be conducted at a venue that is in keeping with the high standards set forth by the NAFL and its Board of Directors.
During the 2016 NAFL Draft Combine, each of the inaugural NAFL teams’ coaches, player personnel, and scouts will be on hand to extensively evaluate, test, and interview each player according to the NAFL combine guidelines and drills. Following the 2016 NAFL Draft Combine, the top performers will be notified by the NAFL through an official announcement and invited to attend the inaugural 2016 NAFL Draft.
Additional details regarding the 2016 NAFL Draft and the 2016 NAFL Draft Combine will be released once all necessary arrangements have been finalized.
